"The shortest path between two truths in the real domain passes through the complex domain." Jacques Hademard
"Life is a relationship among molecules and not a property of any molecule." Linus Pauling
"The aim of science is not things in themselves but the relations between things; outside these relations there is no reality knowable." Henri Poincare
"Beyond the calipers and the bubble chambers and the calculations, the chief question of science might be this: In what ways do our methods of investigation limit our knowing, and how might an awareness of the limits of our understanding of the universe create new opportunites to understand?" Comment: I think that Bohr made a great advance when he showed our limitations of truly understanding what was going on, via our traditional methods of measurement. Our increasingly precise measurements were actually distorting the observations, so that the observers could not discount the assay from the findings, and its ramifications on subsequent understanding. This was a crucial point.
